Each day that passes at our little enterprise brings its own challenges, opportunities and eye-opening experiences. Most recently it has been the pleasant surprise of the quality of writers and business experts that we have attracted to our fledgling network.
Oh sure, we planned to have the best and the brightest join us (see #3 on the back of the napkin) but it is thrilling to see it start to unfold as talented, domain experts contact us and indicate an interest in writing for Know More Media.
We took as gospel what Nick Denton from Gawker said in an article on Wired, "the blogosphere is an unending source of undiscovered talent." This blogosphere prophet confirmed our hunch and strengthened our confidence in the revolution that is occurring in media.
Just this week (during the holiday slowdown), we have added phenomenal expertise to the Know More Media network by at finding authors for Leasingnotes, itechtips, MarketingBlurb, and BizImpresario. The authors of each of these blogs have established expertise and authority in their respective fields. Their daily posts will be additive to the business topics they cover and will surely develop a loyal readership.
One thing the Internet provides is a constant reminder of how big the world is, how different we are and in the same moment how alike we are. It is truly amazing to me to be engaged in the process of gathering business expertise from perhaps all over the world and publishing it with a dedicated but small team and some innovative software. It was unimaginable even ten years ago despite many cool things occurring on the web.
Any time you set out on an entrepreneurial adventure you never know if your premise, your gut and all the data you can gather is correct. In our case, we still don’t know -- but this we do know. We have added some depth and talent to our starting team. Based on the past two weeks, I like our prospects for the 2006 season.
Our faith is now transforming to knowledge and experience. The exciting part is to know that there are many more undiscovered talents that we have yet to meet. We look forward to meeting you over the next several months.
