Two of our favorite organizations, PRWeb and Unitus, have announced that they have formed a partnership with to goal to help alleviate poverty.

PRWeb has made a commitment to provide monthly donations to Unitus.
These contributions will come from revenue generated by PRWeb’s latest product offerings, with a portion of the fees going to Unitus.
The new product offerings include PRWeb’s EyeCaster technology, which showcases PRWeb™ news releases on a network of business websites, blogs and a network of over 2,000 general interest sites. The EyeCaster distribution enhancements are available to all users upgrading their distribution to the new $120 distribution level or above...Unitus seeks out and partners with the highest-potential microfinance institutions (MFIs) in the world and provides them with capital assistance and expert consulting services. With this support, Unitus’s MFI partners are able to serve exponentially more poor clients. Unitus also aims to demonstrate that MFIs can be run as profitable, large-scale, poverty-focused businesses with links to local capital markets. Unitus’s seven MFI partners currently serve more than 500,000 clients in India, Kenya and Mexico.
I should disclose that I am on the Board of Directors of Unitus and was one of the co-founders of Unitus, so this news is thrilling to me.
PRWeb has already been a good partner for Know More Media and they are a critical relationship to us. It is gratifying to see the good-heartedness of David McInnis and his team to make this a win-win for all parties, especially the poor. If you would care to donate, you can purchase one of these PRWeb services, so a portion of the proceeds goes to Unitus, or you can donate directly to Unitus here. While you are at it, subscribe to the Unitus blog as well.
“Microfinance provides a sustainable solution toward alleviating global poverty,” said David McInnis, founder and CEO of PRWeb™. “With a loan of as little as $100, many of the world’s poor can start or expand a sustainable business to feed their families. Our partnership with Unitus will increase microfinance services to the poor in India, Africa and Latin America.”
