In ancient history, the New Year was celebrated in spring, signifying the prospect of new life. As snows thawed and the earth warmed, rivers flooded leaving deposits of silt to enrich the surrounding land. It was a time to sow seeds and set to work on a new crop.
In Wales, tradition has it that at the first toll of midnight, the back door should be opened and then shut to release the old year and lock out all of its bad luck. Then at the twelfth stroke of the clock, the front door is opened and the New Year is welcomed with all of its good luck.
2005 was a watershed year for us at Know More Media. We launched our network of business blogs and initiated the steps to successfully scale this network to include hundreds of business experts. As we stand at the doorway of 2006, it is an excellent opportunity to re-commit to the principles for which the company was founded.
This week, as a company we will make new goals that support our mission to become the leading business blog network. We will evaluate our business, our product and our method of delivering relevant and timely business information.
As we look back, we see a leap of progress towards our goal. As we look forward, we envision infinite potential, limited only of course by our shortcomings of human and financial capital. So off to work we go, tilling the soil, planting seeds and nurturing our young crop, with the hope that it will bring forth good fruits.
