As we look at the increasing audience for our authors, we find this notice amusing that Newspapers are planning a whopping $50 million advertising campaign to declare that Newspapers are still relevant; Rafat Ali reports:
From the NAA release: "We're exploding the myth that newspapers are old school or static, and we are doing that with a combination of cold, hard facts from independent studies and edgy creative executions that speak to today's media buyers." Wow...exploding with edgy-ness, I would say.
This comes on top of a report that the Magazine industry will spend $40 million to promote print magazines.
Jeff Jarvis agrees with Rafat and states that if "they took a fraction of that money and invested in experimentation and development of new ideas, it would pay off a lot more than this. "
Notice to NAA and to the MPA - We welcome your $90 million dollars! Come spend some of that "cold, hard" cash on some "edgy creative executions" with Know More Media network of niche business sites!
