We love keeping our eye on what Darren has to say. No disappointment on this post either. Since Know More Media is a blog network, we certainly think there are many reasons to join a blog network. Darren clearly identifies and explains these reasons in good form. We think that a network with focus and therefore community and identifiable brand value are also important considerations.
Darren’s number one reason (I don’t know if he listed in order of value or importance) was relationships. I think this is most important. I have been amazed to see the community aspect of Know More Media evolve. Unlike some blog networks where there is no focus, authors that join KMM share a common link – they are practitioners and experts in business. This is a tie that binds. We think this is an attractive aspect of our network. New bloggers are welcomed and encouraged by their fellow KMM authors. Many of our authors read and comment on blogs in our community. That is satisfying for all of us.
As a business, we also expect to be able to develop tools and business relationships that will help our bloggers. The aggregation of targeted, related content delivered to a targeted, related audience offers opportunities for distribution and syndication that is not likely as a standalone blog or a blog that is a part of a network that is not focused on a topic.
While we are not there yet, we expect Know More Media to have brand value. We will commit financial resources to promote the Know More Media brand and the authors in our network. Our vision is that when someone needs information about any business topic, they will think of Know More Media as a trusted and reliable source. Outstanding authors, with expertise and experience in a business niche, will create that brand.
One of the great things about the transformation of media is that there are numerous choices. There are many blog hosting choices, many blog networks to join. Rising above the noise of 30 million blogs is the hard part. Ultimately, (maybe we are there already), blog tools will become commodities. A network that has the focus, brand awareness and relationships that expand its reach will help an author rise above the noise. We are striving to be one of those networks.
