Easton Ellsworth started this craze last month and with help of the likes of incomparable Liz Strauss, it has begun to catch a life of its own.

BlogTipping is where you give three complements to a blog you read and then offer one tip of constructive criticism.  BlogTipping is set to happen on the first of each month.  You also want to tag your post with the term  "blogtipping" so Technorati can show you are participating.

Easton has blogtipping icons for you if you are so inclined.

So here is our BlogTipping for this month.

First up is Paul Allen.  This is not the Paul Allen of Microsoft fame, this is Paul Allen, co-founder of MyFamily.com and all around serial entrepreneur.

I like:

• How he shares his personal philosophy on life, business, and what really matters,
• His insights into business strategy,
• His views on important trends and what really has lasting value in business.

Tip:     More frequent posting.

Next is Chartreuse.  Chartreuse, authored by Prince Campbell, is uber-hip, written with a pulp-fiction attitude, and infused with wit and wisdom.

I like:

• His generosity - He provides more link leaks (example - 10 sentences and 10 links in this one post)  than almost anyone else I know, helping spotlight new and fresh voices to his growing audience.
• No one better uses multimedia (original art, photos, video, music) so extensively in their blogs and even more so, does it in a way to drive home his salient points
• He is hip and cool, yet still kind to the geek (me!) in the corner - Maybe this is why he continues to get so many comments - we all hope some of that hipness will rub off on us if we hang around his neighborhood.  Chartreuse has continually provided straight forward and constructive criticism of Know More Media and any others who really want to get his honest feedback.  This is especially notable as he charges to do this in his consulting practice.

Tip:     I would love to hear more about your ideas about how to change the ad model so we can maximize ad revenue because we have influence, not just because we have traffic.

Ok, I was going to have my third blogtip go to Martin Neumann  and his relaunch of ePublishingDaily.  But then I noticed that Liz beat me to it and she also blogtipped Chartreuse and I didn't want Liz to think we are too influenced by her (but we are!), so I will indulge and blogtip the Unitus Blog. (Disclosure - I am on the Unitus board, so I hope you will support and donate to Unitus to help stop poverty!)

• The great coverage of current Unitus and Poverty fighting news
• The "insider feel" - like I get a sense of what is happening behind the scenes
• The great use of multimedia and video that brings life to the incredible work going on here.

Tip      I really want better insight into the impact these loans in the personal life of the borrowers.
