Chartreuse's Quest for New Orleans Truth Begins in Earnest
Today is the day.  Four volunteers directed by Prince Campbell, AKA Chartreuse, are meeting in New Orleans today to begin interviewing people in the area to learn about their experiences since Hurricane Katrina tore through in August 2005.

Know More Media has created a new blog at NewOrleansTruth.com where Chartreuse's team and others will publish their findings and experiences.  We expect this to become a great resource for those interested in learning about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the progress of recovery efforts.

We wish all who participate success in their labors.  And we invite you to join this growing conversation.

Might I suggest your drop by my blog at wetbankguide.blogspot.com, and after a bit of reading wander over the the blogroll, where you will find a year's worth of truth--hundreds of thousands of words worth--waiting for you already. We welcome everyone who comes to help, but there's a lot of suggestions around this effort that its not been done. Hint: remember the poster in Mulder's office? The truth is out there. No flying saucers or drop in pundits necessary.
Umm, want some truth about the aftermath? Check out the New Orleans bloggers who've been writing about this since the storm hit. Check out the blogroll on WetBank Guide, from comment above and www.nolaslate.blogspot.com. Lessee, there's Travelling Mermaid, Ashley Morris, ThinkNOLA, Suspect Device, da po' blog----I could go on and on. We've BEEN here and REMAIN here. And we'll keep writing from here. And that's the truth.
It’s no party down here but I have just been touring around some of your all's links and what the f***? Who are you getting your information from and exactly what are the credentials of those who are going to be gathering the info? Give us some frame of reference. Show us what the “interviewers” have done in the past. Everyone knows the situation of the city. A recent nation wide survey has shown this. What's your point? Do you really think someone is hiding s*** down here and we are afraid to speak out? Get the f*** out! The job is being done by the N.O. bloggers and if your people come down here and behave themselves, no problem but if they start any kind of s***, if they decide to become creative if you get my drift, they will find themselves wishing they had vacationed in Disney World and you will wish they had.
I think you are late to the table. Not only have the resident bloggers of our city been on top of things since Katrina entered the Gulf.

And it is not only the NOLABLoggers themselves, Powers and Morrison have a page set aside on their site which displays feeds from about ten or fifteen of the local Bloggers as a window into the situation here in the Crescent City. There is one disclosure neeeded here, I am both a NOLABloagger and a columnist for P&M.

Please, please join the effort. The truth needs to be told. I must, however, respectfully request an end to the fatuous idea that this is breaking new ground and that you are the first. Understand the impact that those statements have upon those of us who are not just holidaying in NOLA, but live amidst the devastation.
They should come down for the Rising Tide Convention. We can show them all over the city and learn how the NOLA Bloggers are fighting for our city and keeping the ugly truth on display for all to see.
As Chartreuse mentioned in his comment on this post: http://adrastos.blog-city.com/hark_the_blog_herald_angels_sing.htm we invite local New Orleans bloggers to join in the blogging on NewOrleansTruth.com. We would love to have your voices heard there. If you're truly interested, contact me for more info. dan (at) knowmoremedia.com
Thanks to all of you who raised our awareness to the blogging voice in New Orleans. I hope we can assist in turning up the volume.
Echoing my Know More Media colleagues Dan and Hal, I thank you all for pointing out several excellent proofs that New Orleans-area recovery efforts have been amply covered. We're not looking to replace, but rather only to add to the already sizable body of published information about this ongoing story. The more eyes we can get looking at the situation, the better.
