Doing No Evil at the Google Dance 2006
We spent a few hours at the infamous Google Dance tonight.

If you don’t know about this event, it is annual party thrown by Google concurrentgoogle.jpg with the Search Engine Strategies conference in San Jose. There was plentiful amounts of food, beer, plastic toys, Google propaganda and non-answers from the Google engineers standing by to answer questions.

I stepped into “Club G,” Google’s creation of a dance club in its cafeteria, and like an automobile accident, I could not look away. Imagine the cacophony of heavy bass hip hop, young spoiled Google geeks contorting to the music alongside middle age nerds from SES. It was not a pretty sight.

As the Grateful Dead say, Lately it occurs to me: What a long, strange trip it's been.
