Increasingly Know More Media authors are demonstrating that they understand news values. Continuing recognition and use of these values will increase credibility as well as drive traffic to KMM blogs. Quite a few recent articles on KMM’s network included current events from mainstream news media.
MarketingBlurb and TheRunwayScoop picked up on Kate Moss’ celebrity and return to modeling after recent drug allegations. AdHurl noticed that everyone is talking about Google and the company’s increasing dominance. SouthAsiaBiz keeps us current on the cola controversy in India as well as the latest news and scandal from Bollywood. All of these posts include some element of prominence and or timeliness.
Congratulations to those authors who have taken notice of the NewOrleansTruth blog/project, from interviews with members of the NOLA citizen journalism squad Travis Campbell and Candace Quates, to the CustomersAreAlways spotlight on a young woman who refused to leave her family stranded and Tim Stay’s post highlighting the Important voices of New Orleans.
Although this subject is not a particularly hot topic in mainstream media, Know More Media believes it should be widespread news. This issue is very consistent with our strong belief in citizen journalism. Although Chartreuse, the commissioner (for lack of a better word) of the project has no real expectations other than to see what happens, I believe that the NewOrleansTruth project could cast light on the remaining devastation and other on-going issues as a result of hurricane Katrina.
