In short, Samuel suggested that I, on August 18th, I forget about my job messing around with computers, stop wasting all my free time throwing up
bricks on the basketball court, quit diddling with my dorky glasses, and hop in my cute wannabe sports car, get my daughter and go see Snakes on a Plane.
How do I know Sammy, you ask? I don’t but my daughter, had this voicemail sent to me through a cool tool at the movie’s website that lets you customize a voice or email message from Samuel like the one I received.
This is as Seth Godin would say, “remarkable” and Flipping the Funnel. It reminds me of similar phenomena that Tim and I experienced in 1999 when we were at freeservers.com. Buzz about the movie “The Blair Witch Project” took off across websites that freeservers hosted. The film’s grass roots support and best marketing came from its fans.
Several years later some of these sites not only exist but still rank in the search engines – check out http://tbwp.freeservers.com/.
And now “Snakes in a Plane,” a movie which I never intended to promote, let alone see, got some great promotion on Know More Media. And you are reading it and will likely get Sammy to send a voicemail to someone you know.
Mission accomplished.
