It is not often that a conference changes your life.
But a year ago, Hal Halladay and I had our lives changed as we attended the Blog Business Summit in San Francisco.
As we left the last day of the summit, Hal and I had a vision of a new path for us to pursue.
We were complete blogging newbies.
What we learned about blogging fit with a set of beliefs we were developing about publishing.

We became immersed into a whole new community, meeting and learning from people like Scoble, Pirillo, Stowe Boyd, and Scrivens.

We learned about tools like MoveableType and services such as Technorati that today are indispensable to us.
We heard from Shawn Gold of Weblogsinc and saw the power of a blogging network that knew how to monetize their traffic.
We heard a number of sessions about how corporations could use blogs as a marketing and customer interaction tool.

We left with a vision of how to use blogging for a rapid, low cost publishing platform that allowed experts to share their knowledge and to engage the readers in a conversation.
We saw that while a number of blog networks were primarily consumer oriented, with some business-to-business orientation thrown in, that there really were no significant B2B-only blog networks out there.
So we went home, digested all we learned, laid out a plan, a strategy, and built the tools needed to scale this idea and in December of 2005, we launched Know More Media, a business news and information blog network and media company.
The Blog Business Summit has a special place in our hearts. We encourage you to attend. You will have a chance to meet the inner circle of the A Listers. You will have a chance to meet the outer circle guys like us! You will learn the latest tricks, tools, and services you can’t live without. The Blog Business Summit changed our lives. It can change yours!
