Anil's chosen post title was great: "Corporate Blogging Doesn't Have To Suck."Similarly, social media as a whole doesn't have to suck.
So how come so much of it does?
Well ...
Why are so many Wikipedia articles inaccurate?
Why are so many YouTube videos inane?
Why are so many Flickr photos drab?
Why is the "wisdom of crowds" so often dumb?
For the same reason that so much social media output is simply great ...
We make it.
We make it popular.
We tag it interesting.
We pronounce it finished.
We work on it together.
And that's what's so fun about it all.
