The most time-saving news-gathering tool or method that I've discovered in the past year has been feedreading. Using an online feedreader called NewsGator, I can suscribe to dozens of Web feeds that pull information from a variety of sources as those sources are updated. The result is much like a personalized newspaper that gives me breaking news only on the subjects I'm interested in.
Thanks to news feeds I've subscribed to or created, I now know almost instantly whenever someone mentions my name on the Web, or when someone talks about Know More Media. I get instant updates on my favorite news topics. I can even know when a product I'm looking for is listed on eBay or when that latest tropical storm becomes a hurricane. NewsGator makes all that and more as easy as pie. All I have to do is add feeds and then sign in regularly to see my personalized news.
There are many good feedreaders like NewsGator - Bloglines, Rojo and My Yahoo! come immediately to mind. I invite you to start using a feedreader if you haven't already. It can save you an incredible amount of time and open a whole new world of news and information to you. And that can help you become a smarter person and a better contributor to your company, to humanity and to the world.
