"Traditional" or "mainstream" media and "social media" or "Web 2.0" are just culturally constructed ideas. It's up to us how we use different forms of technology to communicate with people.
There's nothing "wrong" with newspapers or magazines. There's nothing "right" about blogs or podcasts. Given the available technology, a person or business may find that a certain medium or combination of media is right or wrong for achieving a certain communications purpose. But it always depends on the situation.
How are you using "old" and "new" media to achieve your goals?
