In the spirit of the impending new year a few authors weighed in with some incite for the future. BusinessBlogWire and BlogChalkTalk author, Easton Ellsworth wrote a funny post about events he predicts will take place and require the attention of all bloggers. Ellen Weber, author of
BrainBasedBusiness reflected on a few key things she learned this year and RoadGladiator, Melissa Petri resolved to do some things differently in 2007 as well.
A few authors have offered predictions and analysis regarding my not-so-secret obsession. Gary Bourgealt, author of BizofShowBiz examined recent statements by a New York Times consultant who still does not grasp the social media movement. In fact social media is becoming a huge factor in the ability of companies to reach brand advocates and other opinion leaders; in some cases the new medium is the deciding factor in purchases.
With great power comes great responsibility, and MarketingBlurb's Eric Mattson wonders if social media contributors and participants are ready to be the new frontier of online advertising. Unfortunately for traditional media, the increased in online advertising means they will suffer from deceased advertising growth; maybe they should re-evaluate their plan.
Razib Ahmed, author of IndianRaj recently touched on a few important social issues with regards to India. As India grows into a global super-power some are concerned with adverse economic and environmental effects of this growth on the developing nation. The author also discussed how the suppression of female births could be cause for future social unrest and child labor is yet another drain on the India economy, warning that the countries leaders should, nay, must change its mindset as it moves into the future to guarantee sustainable success. The new labor law should help to curb the child labor issue at least.
There has also been a blogosphere tag going on and it is slowly making its way through the Know More Media network. I certainly do not know who started it all but I think it is a fun way for readers to get to know the authors. So find out more about authors Easton, Diane, Maria, Monica, Dan, Jason, and Devin. Quite frankly this tag is so pervasive, I can't keep up...I wonder if a few authors who have been tagged don't know it yet. I hope they don't drop the ball...
