Know More Media Review: Milestones, Using Your Brain and New Frontiers
We have made it through our first couple of weeks of the new year and already Know More Media has both witness and experienced its own milestones. Earlier this week I wrote about the the Freedom Writers movie premier weekend, offering a more personal take on the story behind the Hollywood production. BusinessBlogWire author and Associate Editor Easton Ellsworth announced the network's synidaction deal with Newstext and just today, CEO Hal Halladay paid homage to our 4,000,000th visitor, reflecting on the network's rapid growth.

The Know More Media leaders have a keen eye for talent, which they cultivate by validating the creativity and hard work of their authors and staff. The Incredible Author award was instituted in July to highlight an author every month for their superb writing, creativity and dedication to the success of Know More Media. The final decision must be dificult; one of which I am greatful not to bear the burden. BrainBasedBusiness author Dr. Ellen Weber, was chosen as our Incredible Author for December and rightfully so. Not only does frontier.jpgDr. Weber works tirelessly to offer readers new ideas on how to improve their business performance by using their brains, she works overtime to build a reading community. I really want to tell you to just read her column but the article about being sure to speak English, and not geek is an excellent sample.

This week there was quite a bit of news about new media,
from fashion bloggers being offered an all expense paid pass to cover fashion week to politicians launching blog campaigns. This could change the face of political elections much like television did during the Kennedy/Nixon run. According to ElephantBiz author Bill Hobbs, new media is even the new battle ground, with politicians using podcasts to respond to attacks made via YouTube.

Internet neutrality has quickly become a hot topic for 2007, with AT&T being forced by the FCC to treat all content neutrally to gain approval of teh the BellSouth Corp. purchase, and politicians introducing neutrality legislation early into 2007. When Quest Communications CEO Dick Notebaert claimed that this action turned a tradition on its head, AdHurl author George Parker refused to buy what he was selling. Attudes similar to that of Notebaert are likely the reason many media companies will continue to experience disruptions well into 2007.

On the other hand ThePublishingSpot had news of another side of publishing with a recent announcement of the first ever novel publishing contest. This is a true test of whether or not you are ready for a brave new publishing world. Is your novel ready?
