Everyday I am pulled further into this online universe we call a blogosphere – a term that seems to make the concept of online social networking much smaller than it really is. With interactions seemingly unhampered we see true personalities, and build relationships with people we would otherwise never meet. 

Using of blogs, podcasts, social bookmarking, and other forms of online media, bloggers and social networkers have created a world where people respect the opinions of others while also being unafraid to express their own, creating amongst themselves the next generation of opinion leaders. The bonds between those who network online are formed through transparent, often frank dialogue making those connections and opinions that much stronger and more valuable. 

There is also a system of social checks and balances with some taking on the role of "citizen editor." Others find ways to celebrate blogging accomplishments, or just reach out the blogging community with fun getting-to-know-you memes. It takes relatively little time to see that a major element to successful blogging is networking. So in the essence of facilitating some of the blogger social networking, here is a roundup of some opportunities to interact with others in the blogosphere.

Easton Ellsworth, Know More Media staff author and general jack of all trades (as far as I can tell), came up with a few ways for all of us editors to offer some constructive criticism other bloggers. On the first of each month you can go Blogtipping or you sign up to participate in project SOAP.

After finding out that there are 68 million blogs registered on Technorati, Bill Belew sent out a call for the most prolific bloggers and the response has been tremendous. Some want to argue standards, others just want on the list. So far the are only 74 on the list, so keep sending in those entries! Maria Palma reflected on Belew’s new A-List, letting us know exactly where her focus lies.

Productivity501 author of  Mark Shead is giving away iPods to the authors of the five best reviews of his blog. You probably think Shead wants only positive reviews, but my thought is that this effort is really a way to connect with other bloggers as well as get some constructive criticism in the process. The contest lasts until there are 150 entries, so go review Productivity501 so I can find out if I won that iPod (*tapping toes while impatiently looking at watch). 

You can also know more about your blogging comrades by finding out 5 things you don’t know about them or why they blog. "5 things you don’t know..." was so pervasive that there is even a Newsvine thread where viners share things you might not know about them.
