na Farmery at Engaging the Brand, which I would encourage everyone to listen to. Dr. Weber makes her brain based approach sound so simple and she was so personable that I actually retained most of what she said! Truly impressive.
Online media seem to be under siege. While Google takes on Europe and Viacom claims the influx of traffic to their online videos was a sign of vindication, there was a more disturbing precedent set by the French Constitutional Council. The council has practically criminalized citizen journalism by outlawing filming or broadcasting acts of violence by anyone other than a “professional journalists,” calling the internet government saction chanels which they can censor as they wish.
TheAlphaMarketer examined why the media is no longer “mass” but rather a collection of various niche topics, arguing that targeting a segmented market is the way to surviving in the future of media.
Bill Belew, author of several Know More Media blogs, touched on an interesting subject when asking why is “historically Black” important. The answer would depend on who you ask. My answer: because they were created to serve the Black community durring a time when racism and discrimination were a more overt. For many, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are a sacred part of the African American history and civil rights struggle.
