Upon examining the recent YouTube "attack" on Hillary
Clinton, ElephantBiz author Bill Hobbs noted that the political game has changed because, when using social media, politicians don't have much control over their message. Google is acknowledging this changing political landscape by taking steps to maintain a foot-hold in this new arena.
Maria Palma, author of TheRunwayScoop expressed dissatisfaction with those who refuse to take real action regarding the skinny model issue. Of course, I had to add my two cents. On CustomersAreAlways, Palma discussed that to direct customers to a website after they have taken the time to call is tantamount to flushing money down the toilet--the message conveyed is that the business has zero customer service. Wake up! Customer service helps with damage control involving dissatisfied customers and encourages repeat business. Duh!
According to TheAlphaMarkerter Gary Bourgeault, Fisher Communication is offering citizen journalists a new broadcasting medium via a site called YouNews (site still under construction). I like the idea of new media news-gatherers being able to submit content, and there being a gatekeeper to filter through the muck and approve qualified videos. Sounds like a step toward professional citizen media to me.
