Tanya Palta of OurBollywood.com has been chosen to receive Know More Media's Incredible Author Award for Apr 2007. OurBollywood is a blog that covers news, views, events, and the business of Bollywood and the Hindi cinema.

Bob and Helen Parr were the Incredibles—Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl (Mrs. Incredible). Through their efforts and unique talents, they achieved superhuman, incredible feats. We give out a monthly Incredible Author Award (also accompanied by an Incredible PEZ dispenser) to the Know More Media Author who has been particularly incredible during the month—the one who has really stood out and put in the extra effort.

Tanya launched OurBollywood back in July 2006, and the blog really started solidifying its place in the Bollywood media world just 3 months later. April was a break-out month for OurBollywood, thanks in part to Tanya’s thorough and well-timed coverage of a huge Bollywood wedding. In April, OurBollywood had 897,000 page views, which translates into an amazing 330% traffic increase (see Sitemeter) from Mar-Apr—even more impressive considering the already high level of OurBollywood traffic (256,000 page views in Mar). This was a 640,000 page view jump in one month! OurBollywood also has almost 300 RSS subscribers, at one point reaching almost 600 RSS subscribers.

Tanya has been a fan of Bollywood her whole life. As she states on her bio, “Like many Indians I have also grown up on a staple diet of rice, pulses and Bollywood! Be it the black and white or the golden era of Bollywood, or the horrendous garish movies of the early eighties (I plead temporary insanity) I have seen it all!”

As you can read on OurBollywood, Tanya is extremely plugged in to the Bollywood industry. OurBollywood articles can constantly be found on such sites as IndianPad.com, Nighi.com, BestOfIndya.com, and others. You don’t have to be a fan of Bollywood to appreciate the excellent work Tanya puts in to make OurBollywood an incredible success. Tanya’s OurBollywood fans are sure glad she works so hard!
