The big buzz this week was about Sprint terminating the services of over 1,000 customers. CustomersAreAlways author Maria Palma was not sure how to react but wrote about it over the weekend. Palma followed-up with a wrap up of news she had been reading on the topic including a video featuring a strange voicemail from a Sprint customer service agent who forgot to study his script.
MarketingBlurb author Susan Gunelius used Sprint as an example of the #1 way to loose
customers: ask them to leave. Gunelious called this decision by Sprint curious and wonders how they plan to recover from this PR disaster.
CompanyCounselor author Linda Chan asked several pertinent questions regarding whether or not companies like Sprint have the right to take action against high maintenance customers and what costs are driving the decision let go of so many customers.
While many believe this is a big mistake by Sprint, still others had a different opinion. LandingTheDeal author Dan Tudor points out that anyone in customer service or sales has dealt with customers making unreasonable requests and points to Sprint as an example that it’s okay to fire your customer.
ModernMagellans author Roger Anderson shares a similar sentiment and noted that when relationships are not beneficial or profitable to either party, it is best to discontinue those relationships.
There have also been some other great things happening here at Know More Media over the last couple of weeks. Last Friday I had the pleasure of welcoming three new authors, this week we are welcoming two more.
Jennifer Chait is the new author of OfficeStuffer.com and will be keeping readers up-to-date with new innovation in office equipment and design. Check out her article on how office design effects productivity.
At the helm of AutoMill.com is author James Ria, who thus far has only had a chance to introduce himself. We are excited to have him on the network and are look forward to learning from his experience and expertise. Be on the look out for his auto reviews if you are in the market for a new car!
