Know More Review: Juanita Bynum, Christan Celebrity and the Queen of Mean

The biggest stories this week: the death of the “Queen of Mean” to the assault on Juanita Bynum. The Know More Media authors had much to say about both topics.

On Monday we learned that the infamous hotelier Leona Helmsley passed away due to heart failure. According to PropertyMaven, Helmsley’s nick-name should have been “Queen of New York.” YourIndividualBrand took a look at Helmsley the philanthropist and CareerSuperStar took a look at how Helmsley’s public reputation affected her personal brand.

LandingTheDeal examined Helmsleys mixed image and CustomersAreAlways gave a few pointers on how to deal with the boss from hell. ElephantBiz explored Helmsley’s political affiliations and AdHurl reflected on his own personal meeting with Helmsley.

The other top story was the unfortunate assault on evangelist, author andJuanita_Bynum.JPG business woman Juanita Bynum. WebMetricsGuru looked at how this story had become such a search engine powerhouse and BizMediaScience analyzed this incident from an introspective angle, while PanAsianBiz and TheBizofKnowledge discussed how it would affect non-Christian perception.

TheAlphaMarketer examined the strange paradigm of turning Christian leaders into celebrities; Manager’s Realm presented tips on how to manage a celebrity marriage and business relationship and BizofShowBiz followed the developments of this tragic story.

» What Can the Juanita Bynum Assult Teach Office Workers from OfficeStuffer
You've likely heard about the recent assault of televangelist and best-selling author Juanita Bynum. If you haven’t the basics include Bynum, an Atlanta hotel parking lot, and Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III (her estranged husband). Weeks attacked... [Read More]

It is unfortanate that Juanita Bynum's ministry only has come to the attention of mainstream media after she was assualted for over a decade she has been an encouragement to many in the Christiandome. The aggressive acts of her husband shine light on a hidden cancer in the Christian community. Anger continues to ruin families, ministries and the lives of many. It is my hope this incident will cause more minister and churches to seek help by taking an anger management class or calling for anger management seminars within their churches. leave juinita alone the bible reminds us to touch not is annointed and do his prophet no harm if"the bishop 'is aware of this let God continue to work out what need to work mout in her life juinta we are praying for you you nhave touch many lives for the kingdom of God and we would not let 'a wounde3d soldier die'
Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church A woman is a symbol of your mother, daughter, sister, aunt. She is to be protected. Walk away from violence, and keep walking for people who dare to say he tried to walk away. How may times have I just walked away. I have 3 abusive / or negligent brothers, and 1 abusive nephew. wives have moved on-Praise God - cause they (men)aint changed and they miss what they lost. Teach your children boys and girls the right way to treat others, all people and spouses and we can break that cycle of abuse and lack of respect. A guy once told me that it was alright to give a woman a back hand. So from me he got an immediate goodbye hand. Women, don't settle! I know I did a lot of sayin but I'm still prayin. I know Weeks has sweet and Godly parents, and I pray for them as well.
So the devil made the "bishop" do it? When are we as Christians going to except personal responsibility for our actions. Jesus, defeated the devil for us he gave us power over the devil. The fact is we HAVE A FREE WILL to choose! Because we allow our flesh the reign lets stop blaming it on the devil. Yes, we all have issues but we must be mature enough and love God enough to set OURSELVES down when our flesh begin reign over the things we teach and preach. How many unsaved and babe's in Chirst will be affected by this? And still "bishop"Weeks in his arrogance goes on to say he will continue to preach. At this time he needs to sit down some where and seek the Lord. I have been called serve(minister) but I am going to continue to sit down until I gain VICTORY over my STRONG HOLD lest I cause another to stumble. I would like to hear your response. Thanks
Shannon, lots of positives go unnoticed by the mainstream media, largely because of the nature of the news media these days. I'm sure you've heard the phrase "If it bleeds it leads." Please don't mistake that as the policy of Know More Media (we have covered plenty of positive and inspirational stories), but it is standard practice in the news industry. Cynthia, I never mentioned anything like "the devil made him do it," nor do I see that in any of the comments in this thread. This article is a review of the top news for the week, so I'm not certain whose response you were asking for. Personally, I don't agree with the theory that ministers should be perfect and if they make a mistake (however large) that they should step down from their post. They are to preach in and out of season. Many will likely be affected by Weeks' lack of self control but I don't think there should ever be an expectation of perfection. If they have never been through anything, how can they connect with people who have? I also think there is no excuse for Weeks' poor judgment and hope he seeks help - both spiritually and psychologically.
1Cr 5:12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 1Cr 5:13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked man from among he should absolutely step down and consult God so that he may recieve he direction and correction he obviously needs.he also needs to acknowledge what he's done and get through it.this devil made me do it mess isn't going to cut it.when we are called before God we will not be able to say something as childish as that.i will venture to say the both of them are out of order somehow and this is a repeat of the many other mega ministries that have crumbled do to their hubris.stay humble.it's always God and never you who is good.we give them all these praises and now they look silly because they've began to believe what they heard.well if they had any real faith at all they can experience a rebirth in Christ and recieve the victory in the end. pray for em'..
Shannon that you for your response. I do apologize for my comments not having thread of relation to the topic. Kimberlee thank you as well. Perfection was not the point I was trying to get across. My belief is that there was only one that every walked the earth that was perfect. Jesus Christ. My point is that as Christian's we have to take responsibility for the things we do and say. The bible does say that we should judge ourselves and many times being mature enough to sit yourself down and wait to hear from God is the right thing to do. Preaching in and out of season? Does that me to stand before God people, preach his word while you are beating your spouse, commiting adultery, stealing from the church etc? No accountability just keep preaching? Absolutely, they should step down from their post for a time. The minister, pastor, bishop etc. love for God and his people should out weigh everything else. Again Thanks for responding
I'm sick and tired of these so called God loving ministers standing on the pulpit talking the talk and not walking the walk, some of them are only hidding behind the white color that the wear and using the name of Jesus to calpalt there careers, enough is enough and when are some church members gonna wake up and recognize the con- artist that some of these so called preachers are calling themselves, maybe thats the problem they are calling themselves and not God (wait for God to put a calling on your life not the ($$$$).. How much are you church members gonna put up with before you really really realize who is standing in front of you!! if you are filled with the Holy Ghost he should be working in your life to bring revelation to you !!!!God help us all !!!! # 2 What is wrong with alot of the ministers wives talking about they haven't got there yet???? eithere you're saved or you're not (stop playing the role be for real )because all the smiling you portray in the church and the acting saved believe me God knows your Soul....i urge you to pray and stop living for the devil .
Woman of God prophetest Bynum God is your strength, he will uphold you and put the devil to shame. It is not over till is over. I am praying with you.
I just want to say to the ladies. Why is every woman so down on Juanita. I tell you what you take a beat down an stay around for him to kill you the next time. She is doing what she have to do for her life. A woman needs to know her value in this world; and Juanita Bynum knows hers. Everybody ia acting like just she is the blame. Mr. Weeks and no other man should beat a woman for no reason. He is a cowart an needs real help.
dear, juinta bynum can you please add a song called"dance like david"onto one of your albums please ok thanks!!!!
