If you're in the U.S., you might have heard that the Iowa caucus is tomorrow, January 3. Since 1972, the caucus in Iowa has been the first significant electoral event of the U.S. presidential nomination process. Iowa voters will give the U.S. its first "official" glimpse at those candidates most likely to win their respective party nominations this summer.
Although the hubbub surrounding the Iowa caucus is sometimes inflated and the candidates' last-minute efforts more staged than usual, this event nonetheless will provide an interesting kickoff to the melee that is sure to follow.
One significant lesson for businesses from the electoral process: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Winning one caucus or one primary or one state on Election Day isn't enough. Spread out your resources to cover as much ground as possible and protect yorself from losses in different areas.
Know More Media will follow the U.S. elections closely and we'll keep you posted as major developments occur throughout this year. Stay abreast of daily U.S. political events at ElephantBiz (Republican) and TheDemoMemo (Democratic).
Now then - who would you vote for if the U.S. presdential elections were held today (asuming you're eligible to vote) and why? Do you think the Iowa caucus winner will go on to win the election for president in 2008?
