EveryScape: Constructing The Real World Online
Everyscape is a new service that takes the idea of street view maps to a whole new level. Like the street view feature on Google Maps (NASDAQ:GOOG)you can see °360 views of the street, go on virtual walks down the street, zoom in on images; shows you a 3D street view of a given city. There are two key differences with Everyscape: you can take virtual tours of the interiors of various busnesses and tourist locations and anyone can contribute.

Virtual tours are not necessarily a new thing. Already we can take virtual tours of restaurants, clubs, wedding chapels, art exhibits and so much more. It was only a matter of time before those tours became 3D and incorporated entire cities. How does EveryScape plan to create a 3D virtual world? Starting one cosmopalitan city at a time. With the recent addition of With $7 million in venture capital backing to its coffer, Everscape is planning to expand its sales force, eccelerate new city launches and implement some community initiatives.

Acording to the Boston Globe, EveryScape wants to build its business by allowing its users to be able to tour cities and towns as well as participate in the development of the site.
"For example, while 'walking' through Union Square in San Francisco via EveryScape.com, users can window-shop storefronts as well as tour the inside of those stores, see their offerings, and access published reviews and other information. As users tour an area, they can add their own content, including relevant links, personal reviews, rankings and so on."

Through the Ambassador Program, Everyscape is inlisting teams - consisting of driver and a navigator/photographer - to drive around various destinations and local businesses taking photographs. The list of targeted cities is proof that EveryScape is ardent in its mission to map the globe in 3D and recreate the "real world online." The teams selected to become an ambassador, will be provided with on site training, given a van and unleashed on the city.

Not only can you see 3D images, EveryScape pulls videos from various locations such as the Apollo Theatre Another good idea for Everyscape would be to incorporate real estate listings into their searches and 3D virtual tours.

EveryScape is currently in the beta phase but in time and a cache of dedicated photographers, the online mapping website is sure to become an invaluable tool. With its constructed 3D virtual world for every one to explore, it  could take consumer awareness and expectations to a new high.
